Mr Blessed Baffuor-Atta is the Deputy Auditor- General (DAG) in charge of the Educational Institutions and District Assemblies Audit Department. He had also served as DAG for the Commercial Audit and the Finance and Administration Departments. He joined the Audit Service in 1988 and was attached to Social Welfare branch of the Central Government Audit Department. In 1995, he was posted to Joint and State Public Corporation, a branch of the Commercial Audit Department at the time.
Through hard work and fortitude, he rose through the ranks to the position of Assistant Director in May 2001. As a result, he was appointed head for the Value Added Tax Service (VAT) branch of the Audit Service in 2002, and a year later, to Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) branch. In September 2006, he was posted to the Headquarters as head of the Finance Section.

Mr. Baffuor has undertaken various special assignments for the Service. For instance, in 1999 and 2000, he was a member of a team that audited the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in New York (USA) and United Nation Relief and Works Agency for (UNRWA) Palestine Refugees in Gaza – Israel respectively. Again in 2005, he led a team to audit the Ghana Embassy in Moscow, Russia.
Locally, he also undertook special investigations into the affairs of the defunct Ghana International Airlines, and Procurement Audit of the Ministry of Defence all in 2006.
Mr. Baffuor has attended a number of Conferences and Seminars both locally and internationally. Key among them are; training in USA Government Audit, organized by USAID Planning Budgetary and Management, EU/ NAO, Negotiation Skills workshop, Management Develop Programme for Senior Managers Workshop under AFROSAI- E in South Africa, and Leadership Skills Training at the Ghana Institute of Public Management and Administration.

Mr Blessed Baffuor-Atta is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) since 2002. He was nominated to serve on the ICAG Council in 2012 for a period of two years. He was the Vice Chairman of the Members’ Service and Professional Standards and Ethics Committee of ICAG.
Besides debates and music, he enjoys jogging, watching football and boxing.
